I will read the page with interest. Although I've never been fond of Mossberg handling on recoil, I had a chance to work on a mdl.500 in .410 recently and was favorably impressed by the design (simple and robust and very ingenuous)
 
Maybe you can tell me why I can't put a heatshield on a 590 with ghost ring sites? The Mossberg website says it won't fit. I've never tried it but would like to. That barrel gets pretty hot.

Who sells the metal trigger guards and safety?
