New Model Vaquero

Has anyone out there touched one of these yet? From what I have read on various web sites, they seem like a great improvement. I wonder if they can handle the powerful stuff like the old vaqueros!

AFAIK, they aren't out yet. SHOT show is their introduction. The rumour is that the NEW Vaqueros will NOT handle "RUGER ONLY" loads. It is still a wait and see proposition.

Sir William: I have seen a few posts of people who have handled them in gunshops so I think they are out. Since I shoot .357, the scaled down dimensions shouldn't be a problem as it will likely be for the heavy-duty-load .45colt crowd. :) But if they have all that lawyer-garbage on the barrel, it will be a moot point as I'll be buying some other SAA replica.

They're out & turning up here & there.
Ruger says they will back the NVs on any commercial .45 Colt load that meets SAAMI pressure specs. That means it WILL NOT take the hot stuff the old Vaq would take.

The new model is going to have to be much better to impress me

I have an stanless Vaquero in 45 LC.
Some one here attached a web sight showing the changes.
I found the 1 3/4 inch groups to be FUNNY.
Mine will do close to that. the only thing is it has nothing to do with where the sights are pointed.
The one that I have hits 5 inches right and 6 inches low. And I asure you that its not me, several other friends have done the same with this gun.
One person that I know had a blue older model and his hits close to the same distance from center only on the left side of the target.
I also noticed that the grips are narrower, do they fit any better.
The Vaquero seems to me to be designed so that with investment casting that ruger uses any grip that they build will fit, BUT fit poorly, to the point of being worse than some of the $150 dollar Itilian Blackpowder pistols that I own.
Its a good gun, strong, but for the +450 $ I paid for it I was very dissipointed in the quality of the fit and shooting inability.
When I contacted Ruger I got 0 for an answer.
Mailed a question twice in a year and got Zip in return.
I was surprised by a company that was run by Mr Ruger who was alive at the time.
I still feel that Rugers are well built guns very strong and reliable.
But the older Valquero does not impress me.
I hope the new is better.
