New Model Ruger Blackhawk Mainspring Question

My NEW-new model ruger.45 colt blackhawk has that stinkin lock thing at the bottom of the mainspring. I wish to put a spring kit in to improve things a bit. Will the Wolf or Wilson Combat replacment mainsprings be too long for a revolver with the stinkin lock or the same as a pre-lock ?

Order a spring kit for a New Vaquero - it'll be the proper length.

If you REALLY want rid of the lock, West Fargo has a $35 hammer overtravel stop kit that replaces the lock body:

WARNING: if you use it as an overtravel stop (actually blocking the bottom of the mainspring from overtravel) you need to use blue locktite at a minimum on the overtravel set screw. If it should somehow tighten up, it could tie the gun up. (Loosening is of course more likely, but still...)
