I decided to get a ruger single action with adjustable sights. Will the new model blackhawk 45. or convertable be able to handle the hotter loads for deer hunting? It doesn't seem to have the weight as the sbh,or the older vaqueros and bisleys. Not sure what to get, don't really want to carry around a boat anchor all day.I really like that ss bisley 5.5" bbl.that's been popping up around this sight, but the gun shops in my area have been looking at me like i was nuts.

ALL OF THE NM BLACKHAWKS AND THE OLD MODEL 41'S, 44's AND 45's

Have the same sized frame and are of equal strength in equal calibers. This applies to all the BISLEY BLACKHAWKS as well. Since the cylinders and and frames are the same size the 41mag is the strongest, the 44mag is the second strongest, and the 45 caliber guns are the least strong. This is strictly due to the size of the holes in the cylinder. The more it is bored out the weaker it is.
You please note this well: The Ruger 45COLT sixguns are not--NOT-- 45 " MAGNUM " sixguns perse' and you cannot load the dickens out of 'em with impunity. The loading manuals are full of data for the Ruger Blackhawk 45's and that data will exceed 44MAG power at the much lower pressure levels needed to stay on the safe side with a Ruger BLACKHAWK 45.
