Thanks for letting me join. Just wanted to share very positive feedback with the Colt XSE line. Purchased a lightweight Commander, WOW what a shooter. This has it all, accurate, easy to carry, better then expected recoil, and it is a Colt. If they continue to build such fine pistols, maybe they will return better then before. These are hard to find, found one on an internet site, and it was worth the price.

I have to agree with you on the rising quality of Colt products. I have a 1991A1 that I have nothing but praise for.

Glad to have you on TFL. Careful, though, it tends to get a bit addictive...

Welcome to TFL ljackson-

I haven't purchased a Colt in year's; but, I always
respected the old Colt's of yester year. Over the
course of time, I really owned some nice one's;
including an original Lightweight Commander.
Also, had a used very early Python in the rare
2-1/2" barrel version; with serial number 29554.
I don't know much about Colt serial number's;
but that must date back to the early 60's?

Welcome! I bought a Colt last year when they finally got approved for sale in my state (CA). Everyone kept telling my my collection was incomplete w/o a 1911 (damn peer pressure!), so I bought a stainless 1991a1 and haven't looked back!
