New Maks in CA

Well, the Mak has been approved for sale in CA. From the few I've seen, they are at the $170-$200 price point. I remember many moons ago when they were $80-ish...gone are those days. But my question is, are they worth $200?
Reading all the positive posts re: Mak I feel like I may have missed the boat on it but if they've priced themselves out of a worthwhile value level, I will look for something else.

But my question is, are they worth $200?

I've seen my friend's Russian MAK go AD upon pressing decocking lever (nope, his finger was not on the trigger). Fortunately, it happened at a range, but it is enough for me to not buy one. I think I would rather look at a CZ 83 for a little more $$. They use conventional safeties and can be carried in condition 1 if necessary. Plus, I would trust the workmanship much more than that of a Russian MAK.

I understand this is anecdotal evidence, but when you witness it, somehow it feels much more that anecdotal.
