New M98 action?

You can buy a new, naked Savage 110 receiver from Savage, and you can buy a new, naked Remington 700 receiver from Remington.

Is there anyone who sells new, naked M98 receivers?

Dakota, Montana Rifle Company, CZ... I'm sure there's some I missed...

These will all be modified 98 actions, the first two will be essentially Winchester model 70 actions...

No kidding. Montana Rifle Company looks like it has a good product, but their naked actions cost more than a full, NIB Rem 700.

Granted I'm looking for a project not a bargin, but damn.

You can't buy a bare action but check out the USSG Z98... Same people that built the Interarms Mark X... This is pretty faithful to the m98 design but with a side safety on the tang..

Where can you buy Remington 700 receivers? I was looking last year and from everything I could gather, Remington does not sell receivers alone, they only sell complete rifles. If I am mistaken I would love to know how to purchase a 700 receiver from Remington for a project gun.
