New Kowa or Used Leica

Hi all,

I need to pick up a new spotter as the Bushnell Scopechief has finally failed me. (It broke after it fell off the bak of a shooting bench)

The old scopechief was great but now I have my sights on better optics.

My Dilemma should I go with a new Kowa TS-611 60mm w/ 27x LER eyepiece around $490

or

Used Leica 77mm @ around $450 that friend is willing to part w/ after several years service (about 8)

Thanks for input

I have Leica and Bushnell Binoculars and The Leica are sooo much better. Tell your friend that if you don't want that scope I will buy it.

Leica has produced some of the finest cameras that have ever been made.

If the Leica is in good shape- DO IT! :)
You might also want to look at a Leupold 25x50 at about the same price. I don't know about Kowa, but Leupold and Leica have lifetime warranties, Leupold is tranferable and fixed here. MHO, get the Leica if it's nice. Leupold if not. German optics are ausgezeichnet.
Good luck.

I screwed up. The new scope my buddy bought is the Leica. The old scope he is selling is a Steiner. And I bought it off him done deal.

It is 27x w/ 80mm tube the resolution is real nice even for an 8 year old scope.

real sweet.
