New Kimber

Fellow TFLers,
Just thought I'd let you know I turned 21 today so of course I had to step out and buy my first handgun. I would like to thank all of those who responded to my many posts with questions. I ended up getting a Kimber Custom Classic II. Now to wait the ten days to pick it up here in the state of California. I will include a range report as soon as possible. Again, thanks for the support and knowledge I've found here at this forum.
 
Congratulations AAChang! I can't think of a better birthday present to yourself. The next 10 days are going to be the longest you can remember. :)

I wish my first handgun had been a Kimber!

Instead it was a crappy ol' RG! I guess everyone remembers RGs. The joke was it stood for "Real Good." Dad thought he was buying me a Ruger!!!

Funny (now) snake story came with it that first night.

Again, congrats on the Kimber. I love all of mine.

Nice choice AAChang. Probably X-mas will be a let down after getting your Kimber. At least you can ask Santa for some toys to go with it.:D

Congrats on your new Kimber. I am in the middle of choosing between a Kimber Custom Classic II & Springfield. Do you mind asking how much you paid for the kimber? I am wondering if the price I got is good. I am looking for the Kimber Custom Classic SS II...is yours the standard finish?

I paid $639 plus tax and a DOJ fee. All and all it came out to $702 and some change. I'll give you a range report as soon as I have one. I faced a similar decision a few months ago, trying to decide between Kimber and Springfield. It was partly the information I found on this forum that helped me reach that decision. I only hope now that I will become a similar asset to this forum by sharing my experiences. Best of luck to you.
