Does anyone else want one of these besides me? Does anyone know how the .38 Super does out of a Commander/Pro Carry (4.25"/4") size gun versus a full size 5" gun. Who shoots a .38 Super? What are your opinions on the cartridge? Who has one of the full-size Kimber .38 Supers introduced last year? How do you like it? What magazines, other than Kimber factory, will work reliably for this gun? Any thoughts/comments/experiences will be appreciated.

Love that 38 Super

The Super is the 1929 model of the 357 Sig. I have a Commander that had a Bar-Sto bbl fitted. I have chronoed some special loads at 1570 from it with a 124 gr bullet. I usually load it with Mag-Safe at the house or Silvertips or Cor-Bon for carry. The Super is a VERY good defensive caliber, sort of a 9mm on steroids.

I participated in some tests on shooting through windshields. The best 40 is the 180 Hydra-Shok which is 65% at angles down to 40 degrees, the 9mm are only about 50% and only down to around 45 degrees. The Super with Cor-Bon 124 was 100% even at 30 degrees.
