New Kahr CW380

I have owned LCPs since I first got into pistols and they have always been decent little guns for me. I shot a friend's new CW380 this past weekend and feel in love with it. After I ran several mags thru his, I just had to own one. I visited a local store yesterday and picked one up. Took it home, cleaned it up and headed to the range. I only ran about 30 rounds thru it since the weather was bad but I just had to shoot it!

The very first mag had one failure to feed but I wasn't too concerned about that since I had done my homework and expected a few issues during the break-in period. I put four more mags thru it and had no more failure to feeds but did have one mag lock open before it was empty. I believe I caused it by pushing up in the slide stop. I plan on putting another box thru it later this week and see how it does again.

I was very impressed with the accuracy of this little gun. My groups at 7-yards were pretty tight due to the decent sets of sights on this little gun. I'm already looking forward to shooting again.

The pistol seems very well built and is extremely tight which I assume is why they require a break-in period. I'm not overly excited about having to break-in this pistol but I guess it's all part of the experience!!

Looking for opinions/reviews from current or past owners. I really like the way it feels in my hand compared to the LCP and boy does it handle the recoil better. If it proves just as reliable, it may replace old Elsie as my summer pocket carry piece. Thanks.

The only Kahrs I've kept are my MK9 and the PM380.

The 380 still feels like a toy in my hands, small and fragile. But its performance is more like the all steel MK9; accurate and dependable. I haven't had any failures except the fail to return to battery, and that's fixed with a new spring.

When I can only manage a pocket gun, the Kahr is the one I choose.

Now, use those crickets for bait.

Thanks CPO15. I appreciate the info.

You also gave good advice on crickets, the bream are biting well in Mississippi now!

After carrying an LCP for 7 years, I bought a Kahr CT380 six months ago. As you know, it is a bit larger than your CW380, but is also easier to shoot than the Ruger. Plus, being a 7+1 with a longer grip my pinky doesn't dangle loose.

Nice little pistols they are. Like my CW45 too.

The CW380 is probably the best bang for your buck 380 pocket gun out there, mine is very accurate and it's been reliable.

I have the P380. It fills the role of a pocket carry gun that gets taken when deep concealment is important. It works just like all the other Kahrs - reliable, easy to care for, very concealable, and as accurate as I have any right to expect out of a tiny pocket gun. And the sights are surprisingly useful.

My only criticisms are about the fact that it requires the use of a slide-lock release to chamber a round (slingshotting it WILL intermittently induce a FTF). I was never a huge fan of Kahr's triggers, but when compared against the rest of its pocket gun peers, it actually comes out looking pretty good.

I don't carry it often, but I'm glad it's there when I do need it, and I have no plans to part with it anytime soon.

I chose the Taurus TCP because it is the only one with a last shot hold open I could find for under $200. I find it easy to shoot and pretty darn accurate for a little bitty gun. I have shot 500-600 rounds through it and would buy it again. I once made fun of Taurus until I traded for one. I am now a convert (since I am cheap).

The thing that I really love about my CW380 is that I can really shoot it....I get split times like a big gun with pocket carry.

While 380 gives something up to 45, it isn't unusable! The XTP bullet is reliable and has good results in every brand that loads it for SD.

The only negative is the SS slide, but a quick Cerakote should fix that!

I have officially completed the break in period. The last 50 rounds were flawless. It is a very fun little 380 to shoot compared to my LCP. I really liked my LCP and it never failed me, but a few mags is all I really enjoyed shooting thru it while at the range. I know these small 380s aren't meant to be range guns, but I really could shoot the CW380 all day.
