Woo-Hoo!! Anyone know a good waterfowl guide in New Jersey that I can use??!!

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish
and Wildlife has announced plans to implement a recently approved
Conservation Order (CO) for snow geese. A Conservation Order is a
special management action authorized by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act
that is needed to control certain wildlife populations when traditional
management programs are unsuccessful in preventing overabundance of that
population.

Implementation of the CO in New Jersey establishes an unlimited harvest
spring hunting season from March 11 - April 18, 2009. In addition to the
no bag limit hunting season outside of the traditional hunting period,
the CO allows for the use of electronic calls and shotguns loaded with
up to seven shells.

YEE-HAWWWWW... 7 rounds from an auto in the hands of a thousand guys who hunt rarely if ever is gonna be hair raising for those who are experienced!:eek:

I dunno, do things like this draw many inexperienced waterfowlers? I've found us waterfowlers to usually be a group that gets into this either later in life, after hunting lots of other types of game, or very young, following dad & grand-dad...?
 
Heck, If I could load that many shells I might give it a whirl:rolleyes:... Just that the no limit and ammo concession would invite some. Plus you got a certain number of city dwellers with high cap shotguns they have never gotten to shoot much if at all.

sounds like fun to me, i'll have to dig out the wingmaster for the 7 shell capacity,and find out where the geese are hiding at. would be nice if it pertained to canada goose too. i see tons of them in early feb. to mid march.
 
We have something similar here in Arkansas. Our Game & Fish Dept. does everything short of furnishing the shells to get folks out there killing Snows. They're seriously overpopulated. Flocks numbering in the tens of thousands are a real problem for farmers.

"Snow, Blue and Ross’ Goose: Nov. 8-Dec. 24, 2008, Dec. 26, 2008-Jan. 30, 2009 Daily bag limit – 20, No possession limit. Conservation Order: Feb. 2-April 25, 2009 No bag or possession limit."

Also can use unplugged guns, electronic calls, etc.

Locally, they're known as "sky rats" and frowned upon as table fare. I disagree - they can be prepared very tasty in the right hands.
