New Henry side side gate this deer season

Although I purchased this rifle last December, it was too late for deer season then. It was ready this season with a new Bushnell prime scope mounted. Fortunately, I was able to take my limit with two deer this rifle season.

With 20° temperatures along with some snow and drizzle, no tarnishing of the beautiful brass or any other wear and tear on the walnut wood furniture. My Buck was taken last Thursday at 5 PM (mostly dark) at 65 yards with one shot, so the Bushnell prime worked very well gathering light. My Doe was taken at 4:10 PM this afternoon with plenty of light and one shot at 80 yards through the neck.

This Henry 30-30 performed very well without any hiccups thankfully. I sprayed the gun down with a can of (3-1) that’s in the photograph ..and that seem to work very well protecting the outside of the gun.

This Henry is heavier than my Winchester model 94 but it certainly built to last a lifetime! I would recommend this gun to anyone considering a lever action of superb quality.
