I just want to know what restrictions there are on building these things into guns. I think they're pre-89. Can I go pistol grip/wooden stock? Or do I have to use a thumbhole type?

I read that if it was not actualy constructed as a rifle before the ban, then it's not really "preban". However who could stand up and court and say diffrent?

Haven't gotten it yet ---wanted to get some info first. I know about the 94 ban, and it would meet the post-ban construction requirements, but I'm wondering about the 89 import restriction. If it's a foreign receiver pre 89 construction, can I build it up without worrying about a US parts count, or do I need to get the US parts? Is there anything in the 94 law about import gun assembly? It was evidently in-country prior to the ban. New Helvetia claims the recs came off of pre-ban guns stripped for parts, but I don't trust that.
