New Handgun.

I have being thinking of buying a new handgun but i am not sure what to get. I have a .22 a 9mm and .45, i am not keen on revolvers or .40 cal. Its hard here to get two pistols of the same cal so if i wanted another 9mm i would have to trade or sell the one i have. Any ideas.

.308 would be a possibility its not a popular cal here, so i would have to look into ammo supply and price. There are competitions for service pistols and historic maybe worth a look.

Do you have barrel length limitations? I sure like my Ruger LCP in .380 Auto. Europe in the past has been the strong hold of the .380 Auto. That really is to bad about not being able to have two or more guns of the same caliber let alone the same cartridge. I have been thinking of looking at some of the early 32 Auto's for myself for a fun historical gun.

I believe where you are it may be known as 9mm Browning, or 9mm Kruz, or 9x17mm. Here in the Sates it is known as .380 Auto, or .380 ACP. If you can find one there are 9mm Makarov would make a decent range gun, and being in Europe the ammo for it would probably be a little bit more affordable.

My fault i meant .380 . There are no restrictions on barrel length or mag cap. As for .380 its a cal i have never seen at the range. The popular calibers here are 9mm .45 and .22.

Ammo commonality, That is what I would go for. Having two weapons that can use the same ammo is a big plus when buying ammo.

I see that MidwayUK in Warwick has .357Sig brass available. Do you reload by chance? Or have you looked into what's available compared to what reloading supplies are available?

Where you are located, what we in the U.S. call .380 ACP may alternately be known as 9x17mm, 9mm Browning, 9mm Kurz, or 9mm Corto.

Location N Ireland.

How about a Tokarev in 7.62x25 or an older Walther in .32 ACP. Might also consider looking for a 1911 in .38 Super but that might be a bit expensive.
