very new to site. I have a brazilian springfeild mauser 08/34 .30 and Iam trying to make sure its a -o6, could someone please post their muzzle id for me?

Springfield Mauser?

I thought most Brazilian Mausers were 7X57.

Springfields are generally .30-06.

The actions are pretty similar (close enough the US Government had to pay royalties to Mauser), but they are 2 different rifles.

Which rifle do you have?

What markings are on it? Can you post a photo?

I rebarreled one to 308. But it was originally a 7 X57.

I am so happy it feeds well. Cartridge conversions are seldom 100% successes.

brazilian mauser

I had an import that had been converted to .308/7.62, if you do not know for fact you should have it checked out by a gsmith; it could be a .30.06 or a 7.65
you never know, if it is a 30.06 and chambers it snugly...it is probably not any of the other calibers. Too many variables at this point.

It'a quite possible the rifle in question is chambered for 30-06, the Brazilians switched over to 30-06 in the early 50s, and a lot of the newer Mausers still in service at that time were rebarreled. Definitely have a smith check it out.
