New Guy checking in.

I'm Brink. I just got my first wheelgun this week, after shooting autos most of my life. I picked up a Taurus Judge Public Defender Poly. I got it to replace my Colt Mustang as my primary CCW gun. The Mustang has gone up in value, and I don't want to hurt it. Enter the Judge. This thing is an absolute blast to shoot, and not bad to carry as well.

Introductions aside, I have a few questions. Anyone carry the Judge IWB? Any issues I should worry about carrying a revolver rather than an auto? Any issues with the Judge to worry about?

All new guys should report in with a picture, so here's mine. Enjoy.

Only Judge you'll see in California is the one you'll see if you're caught with one of these! Unless you're L.E. of course.

Welcome to the forum!

No experience with the Judge. I've heard good and bad.

It looks like yours shoots pretty good, congratulations on the new gun.

You can find lots on the good and bad of the judge if you do a quick search. Other than that, carrying a judge or any revolver IWB is somewhat uncomfortable for me if it's bigger than a J-Frame. The issues with revolvers tend to be getting gunk under the star (part of the revolver that ejects spent cartridges) and getting gunk between the forcing cone and the end of the cylinder, such as a dime. Keep it clean and carry in a good holster, and you shouldn't have any problems.

Welcome, and congratulations on your new Judge. I have a PD Poly, and was amazed at it's accuracy with 45 Colt ammo. Also the tight pattern of Federal Handgun 000 Buck, and the Winchester PDX-1 Defensive Disc ammo. Also for defence against the non legged slithery critters it holds a snake proof pattern density with #7 1/2 shot out to 10 feet and more.
I don't carry my Poly IWB, or for CCW. I do have a cheapo polyester Air Soft holster from Crosman that I bought at Wally World for about seven bucks. It holds Poly perfectly for woods carry, and the attachment is by Velcro straps that also adhere to the side of the driver's seat in my truck where Poly rides along as an excellent anti-carjacking device!
You'll hear much from the detractors of Taurus, and a also those against the 410 bore for SD, but with all prejudiced views aside the Judge Public Defender Poly is a great gun.
