New Gun :)

Wait...they were still making those turds as late as 1939? Say what?

Silly commies.

And yeah, I said it. Turds. They were ghastly. They were good for shooting conscripts and dissidents in the back of the head at close range and letting them die untreated hours or days later in a ditch or dungeon.

There are very few guns I consider "thoroughly dishonored". That turkey is at the top of the list :(.

Wow Jim, that was kind of harsh. The man just got a revolver for $99. It will never beat a Smith & Wesson in quality, but he probably knows that. How can you go wrong with a $99 turkey?:D You can't buy a cheaper revolver than that. As long as it shoots reliably and is somewhat accurate, the $99 is not a bad deal.

OP, If you are happy with it, it is a good buy.

I wonder what firearm model has not been used to do something bad. The only guess I have is the one that has not been made, yet.

I need one of those,,,

I love the looks of the turn of the century military revolvers,,,
Their styling always remind me of steam locomotives.

Nice catch for $99.00,,,
Around here that same outfit will go for $129.99.

hey it has a holster lanyard armorers tool cleaning rod and a nice revovler with a good finish and is a excellent piece of history of unique desighn any colelctor can admire. And did i mention all this for 99 from J&G sales? It's inferiority is what makes it interesting. Did i mention im a history nut and love old milsurps?

I like my ****. :D

Sorry to dredge up this old thread, but i think these are great guns. They have enough inherent accuracy that they were match revolvers without a lot of modification. The trigger pull is HEAVY, but it's consistent and I don't think it's as terrible impediment to accuracy as it is made out to be. They are strong, and while 7.62x38r is no powerhouse, proper military-strength ammunition is nothing to scoff at, either.

As for "thoroughly dishonored," these pistols have been used in state and revoltuionary murders, assassinations, suicides, state terror, intimidation and, of course, regicide. On the other hand, they've fought communists, German imperialists, and Nazis, and have been wielded by many heroes.

Lugers have just as much dirt under their fingernails, for what it's worth.

Nice. I really really need to add one of these to my collection. Would fit right in with my Mosins. I should have bought one and a ton of ammo when both were extremely abundant.

For Faith, Tsar, and Fatherland!

There's a lot of history in these, and not just Communist.

Mine is dated 1944. Someday I'll try to find one with Imperial markings.

For those who are into Jell-O, here's an interesting YouTube post in which a shooter found that Prvi Partisan 7.62x38r penetrated 21 inches and Fiocchi 18. Both are underpowered compared with historical military levels, including the overpriced (monopoly!) surplus stuff on RGuns. I'd be interested in how that penetrates.
