new gun from HK

No idea what that gold rectangle is, but I will say that it is pretty ugly.

http://www.hkpro.com has quite a bit more information about it than HK's web site.

on there it looks a lot better

than on the "official"? hk site, anyone know how much those things run? BTW--whatever happened to the hk91, a freind of mine had one about ten years ago, haven't seen many since

These rifles are supposed to retail for about $1100. They will first be imported in the 30-06 caliber with others to follow.

Pretty slick design - being able to switch the barrels to utilize different calibers. I'm looking forward to hearing more about this rifle.

You're supposed to be able to change calibers without needing to re-zero the rifle.

It uses the HK 05 scope mount that was used on the SL6/630 and SL7/770 sporting rifles. It's too bad that this mount isn't any less expensive than the HK claw lock setup.

The HK-91, along with the -94 and -93, was banned from importation in 1989 for being "non-sporting".

Empty boast

Changing calibers w/out changing zero? Gee, since when did ballistics for different cartridges, bullet weights, powder charge all become homogenous? I remain skeptical of HK's claim.

Your scope and/or iron sights would stay attached to the postion of the rifle replaced to change calibers(if I don't miss my guess).

Yawn.
