New Gun Dilemma

Time for a new rifle! Got my eye on 2 and can't decide which to buy. Opinions and criticisms are highly welcomed! Please find a moment or two, to help me with this tough decision.

The 1st is a CZ 527 American bolt-action, chambered in .223. Walnut stock, blued barrel. Used, but in mint condition. No scope or irons, no bells or whistles.

The 2nd is a Ruger M77 MKII bolt-action, chambered in .22-250. Black synthetic stock, shiny stainless barrel. Used as well, but also in mint condition. Again, no scope or irons, no bells or whistles.

Neither has an intended purpose other than a quick addiction fix and to put a big fat smile on my face. I already own multiple of each chambering, so that personally carries little relevance to me. Both are identically priced at $599.

Thanks for any and all input.

I think you have a better chance of the CZ being a 'shooter' than you do with the Ruger. Both are nice actions. For coyotes the .223 works just fine, and it's nice (during normal times) to go buy a cheap box of FMJ to shoot for fun.

.22-250 would be better for exploding prairie dogs at long range if that's what you're into.

Agree with the stock, not crazy about synthetics, so it would definitely get an after market walnut or laminate. I love stainless though, just aesthetically speaking. Are CZ's generally known as better shooters than more ordinary brands of guns?

I have a CZ 527 varmint. Love it! Love the single set trigger. It's a tack driver using SMK 53 gr. Shoots MOA or better with anything else. Don't know anything sbout the Ruger.

I agree with all the above, the CZ is awesome. Now if that Ruger had a laminate stock I might just go with that (Im just not a fan of synthetics)
