New Gun Breakin???

Hi Group,

I just got a new Remington 700 VLS in .22-250 and was wondering about what kind of breakin procedures that ya'll use. I'm going to take it off next week and have the barrel floated and the reciever bedded.

Any tips?

Would it be too silly to suggest that you shoot it first and maybe try a few loads before spending a lot of money to make it better (or maybe worse)?

May I suggest you do a search for break in procedures so that we don't have our usual fight between the "just shoot it and don't worry about break in" crowd and the "break in your barrel right" crowd. I'm done with this battle.
