Read about using only jacket ammo for the initial 50 rounds, here is the statement.
"Also a good idea to fire jacketed bullets for the first 50 rounds or so to help break in the rifling. Lead bullets in a new gun will throw accuracy off somewhat."
Does this have merit?
Yes,it has merit. You are breaking in a barrel,and an action. The jacketed bullets should be fired first,50 to 100 will make a difference in accuracy in the long run.The jackets will lap the barrel a bit,lead will not.
