new front bead sight for stoeger coach gun

tread size

was the siock bead screwed in or pressed in and if screwed,do you remember the thead size?

I think the bead is screwed in and the thread is about 2.6mm.

Take a pair of long nose pliers and a thin piece of leather, put the leather in the jaws of the pliers and try unscrewing the old sight.

If you can find a small brass bolt that will fit in the hole, cut and shape to the size you want then screw and fix with Loctite or similiar, it is quite easy.

Commercial replacement beads are available very cheap if you wish to go that route.

Good Luck

It's more than just replacing the bead. A lot depends on your rear sight --- the MK I Ocular System that comes in two models, left eye and right eye.

If you put on a bigger bead, you will be aiming lower. If you put on a smaller bead, your aim will be higher. So, determine what range you're shooting at and pattern the gun.

If you're shooting too low or high, then you know what size bead to get.

I think the shotgun is going to be used for Cowboy Action Shooting.

At the distances used and the size of the targets in cowboy shooting, a slightly higher front sight will make very little difference.

Regards,

Ned
