New For 2012 and Shot Show???

With the new year here and the Shot Show a little more than a week away, I have been doing my yearly search for what is new.

Guns
So-far the one at the top of my “Aahh, that may be cool list” is the rumors that Sig Sauer may be coming out with a 9mm version of their popular P238 deemed the P938. A sub compact 9mm with the customizable looks of a 1911 but smaller than the EMP will defiantly get a second look if and when it arrives at the LGS.

Ruger is already advertising their new arrivals with the American Rifle, the SR22, and theLCR.22.

Bersa still trying to get the BP9cc over hear.

I still want Rossi to announce that they will make the circuit judge in .357 mag.

And a couple of new ammo choices form Hornady that have caught my eye are their Critical Duty rounds for 9mm and .40 , and a Heavy Turkey load. There is also further expansion of their Zombie lineup.

Well that is my limited notes so far. What other rumors /announced new products have y’all heard? Any word of what else is to be seen at Shot show and throughout the 2012 year? What are you hopeful to see?

Couple more to add
Kahr CM40
Chiappa will supposedly show a .40 version of their Rhino revolver. There is word of a 9mm also being tested.

Good to hear that the BP is now on the market. I just saw that it was being displayed at the Shot Show and assumed that the wait continued.

Rohrbaugh is rumored to be introducing something new with the R9.

It won't be a different caliber - a different caliber would make it an R45 or R40. But there will be something new with the R9.

Some people have speculated different sights, a different finish (NP3+ ???), a polymer frame, a steel frame, an R9 that fires +P ???

A version with a safety, or slide stop, or conventional mag release...

It's all speculation and we'll have to wait for Shot Show to find out...

I still have a lot of regret for passing stuff up in the past, and I don't want to do that again. If Chiappa comes out with a 9mm version of it's Rhino I'll get it. I just hope the cylinder is really made for the 9mm cartrige and not just a 38 cylinder reemed to fit the 9mm case. If Charter Arms ever comes out with their 9mm CARR, I'll buy that too...

I am hoping to see some new carbine designs also. I am so tired of AR platforms chambered for every caliber under the sun.

I was reading some gun mags the other day and it's page after page of ARs with "revolutionary" design fulfilling this tactical role or that...

Ugh... it's been around for over 47 years, nothing is going to be revolutionary about it.

I'm also not so keen on the gazillion different makes of the 1911. It's the 1911, it's about the quality of materials and manufacturing controls / quality assurance. I just get tired of each manufacturer trying to spin their version of the 1911 like it's some earth-shattering breakthrough. It's a 1911 - last year was 2011, it's been around. I'm not saying the 1911 is a bad design, I like them, it's just tough for me to endure the 99% marketing hype and 1% actual innovation.

As most people know - Glock didn't come out with Gen 4 versions for all models all at once.

I think they've been holding off till SHOTshow to announce Gen4 versions of some models that previously had no Gen 4 version.
