New FEG P9RZ (9MM)

Greetings,

I carry a Glock 27, but am in the market for a 9 MM suitable for CCW. Does anyone have any experience with the new 10-round, compact Hungarian-made FEG P9RZ? It looks like a nice little 9 MM for concealed carry (10 rounds), but how does the quality compare to CZ? (trigger feel, finish, slide to frame fit, etc.) At 31 oz, it seems somewhat heavy, and presumably it's an all-steel gun. Accurate, reliable and very concealable, according to the recent article (I forget which magazine, though!) I've been very happy with the solid feel of my CZ75B and recently acquired east German and Bulgarian makarovs. I'd be very thankful for any information about this particular model or general experience with FEG. Any negative aspects about the FEG brand, or is it outstanding value like CZ?

I suspect it'll be tough to get first hand accounts on this pistol for a while. Century Arms has been offering it for some time, but I don't know how many takers they've had.

FEG makes good pistols, although some can be a bit cobby. People I know with FEG 380s and HIPower clones like them quite a bit. If you already have a CZ75 why not get a CZ75 Compact, especially the new alloy frame version? You can use your full size mags, it'll be lighter than the FEG, and it certainly will have better fit and finish, IMHO.

So many pistols, so little money.

Police friend at the range I shoot at uses one as a backup. Has lots of nice things to say about the pistol. Says it is a better shooter then the Walther he used to carry. Blueing holds up well. Excellent reliabilty and function. I have one of their HP clones and am very happy with it's quality and reliability. Great value.

I own a FEG Hi-power clone and love it. It has never caused me any problems and shoots whatever I feed it. I would never hesitate to buy an FEG product again. I do think it would be a little heavy for CC, I would stick with the mak's.

I own an FEG .380 which is more accurate, for me anyway, than my Colt Govt. .380. It also goes bang every single time I pull the trigger, although I had to smooth the feed ramp a very slight amount with a stone where it transitions to the barrel.

The blued finish is a little rough in one place, but I'm very happy with the gun, which cost less than $200.
