Maybe. Looks like it might be a striker-fired P-07 coming our way soon. I'm moderately interested. Love my P-07 and not sure I would trade it for a striker version though.

I've been watching this too. It does look interesting. I know a guy that has shot one. He's a big CZ fan and thinks it's going to go over well. He's the one that will be doing the reveal tomorrow on the Military Arms Channel on YouTube.

STRIKER STRIKER STRIKER!!!

I'll keep my hammered P09. I love the DA/SA capability. I really don't think a striker fired handgun is very safe when left out as a nightstand gun for one thing. If I had a dime for every company that has recently jumped on the striker bandwagon, I'd be a millionaire.

Companies are doing it because they're following sales. There are people that prefer strikers and a piece of the pie is better than no pie at all.

He said that he'll post the video tomorrow (Thanksgiving), but has been tight lipped other than to say that we'll like what they've built.

I have a CZ P09 and like it a lot, along with a Sphinx SDP, and a Gray Guns-tuned SIG P228. All of them are great hammer-fired DA/SA guns.

That said, I've never cared for DA/SA guns that force you to cope with two different trigger pulls -- but that is required for two of the guns listed above. The P09, however, gives me option of starting from cocked & locked if I want to. (I bought my P09 used, and it came without the decocker parts; I didn't care.)

If you keep your finger off the trigger, the action type shouldn't make that much of a difference. If your finger is on the trigger and you're ready to press it, the action type shouldn't make that much of a difference, either.

A striker-fired gun is NOT intrinsically less safe than a hammer-fired gun. In fact, some striker-fired guns are very similar to hammer-fired DA/SA gun in terms of function and safety, and one or two of those striker-fired guns have true second-strike capability and frame-mounted safeties!

Other striker-fired guns can be purchased with frame-mounted safeties. My striker-fired Ruger SR-9c, for example, has a good factory trigger AND a frame-mounted safety. That safety can be ignored (i.e., it's not obtrusive) but I can use it if I want to.

I'd be surprised if you'd even get as much as $20, as there just aren't that many gun makers out there!! :)

I just watched the link posted by cyanide971 -- it's a very impressive weapon!!

I guess I'll just have to get one, in the near future.

(I'll have to figure what I'm going to sell/trade to get there, as I don't need a safe full of guns I don't shoot.)

It looks promising. Time will tell reliability. What I do hope is that CZ manages to get enough to market.

Very smooth lines and good texturing... And they are commenting on the trigger being better than a PPQ...

If so, it will be a big hit.

Looks good to me. I'm looking to get some frame work done on my G19 - undercut, take off the finger grooves - and this already has it. Better trigger. Sounds like a "gen 5 glock" almost. I'm not a fan of DA/SA so this is the first CZ I've seen that I'd consider.

Well......that's just frikkin' GREAT. Here I was looking to break back into the striker market and give them one last try as they have improved the triggers and pick up the HK VP9(especially since they are 490ish right now) and here comes a new CZ striker pistol with a better trigger supposedly.

If it wasn't CZ I'd still just pick up the HK since the ergos are awesome, but DANGIT MAN every CZ I have fits my hand perfectly. I don't see that changing. So, looks like I'll postpone the VP9 purchase, buy some AR gear and wait till the real hands on stuff comes rolling in around Jan-Feb and make the decision then. I'm a hammer kinda guy or I'd just buy both. Plus, it ain't any fun unless you put unnecessary restrictions on yourself and make a game of it.:D:D:D

P-10. Not sure why it isn't a P-16, maybe it was already taken?

At least with some CZ models, that's the year when a new model in question was either began or completed initial development. There may have been continuing refinement after that year, however.

That was the case with the CZ-75 ('75), the CZ-97, the P-01 (2001).

That mighnt explain model numbers for the P-02, the P-06 and P-07 (don't know about the P-09), and MIGHT also explain the P-10. In any event, I'm not sure it has anything to do with sequential numbering of models.

The CZ-40B doesn't match that rationale, that gun was a joint effort with Colt to build a .40 for the U.S. LEO market. The Colt Z40 and the CZ-40B were almost the same gun, with very minor differences.

Thanks Walt, glad I could help! Copying what I said in my post and putting here since there's no activity on mine haha.

It looks like CZ did some homework and combined features of several other firearms in making this. Most notably, these:

• Aggressive grip texture like the current Gen 4 Glock and FNS/FNX.
• Full ambidextrous controls like the FNS/FNX.
• Extended beavertail like the Steyr and HK VP family.
• Steel sights borrowed from it's P-07/P-09 siblings.
• Forward slide serrations moved from the beveled edge of the slide like the P-07/P-09, down to the flat part similar to how the Sphinx SDP has them.
• Trigger has an extremely short reset and a crisp break from description, similar to Walther's PPQ (and I'll also say the HK VP).
• Trigger looks very similar to the Apex style used by many shooters to replace the stock trigger on M&P's and Glocks.

Nice to see another option to the many that we already have. The more the better. I thought Beretta would have their striker model released before CZ came out with another one. Looks pretty good though, I'll judge the trigger myself. The reset in the video did not look any shorter than the PPQ.
