New CZ-75

My CZ came in from wholesale guns (Burns Brothers) yesterday at 321 bucks including shipping. I am supprised I do not see more of them around as the quality is as good as any DA auto at twice the price. The trigger pull is not quite as good as my walthers or smith N frames but much better than the walther before it was tweaked. It even has a great set of iluminated combat night sites. The Colts and Barettas will be on vacation here while this cheap POS gets used. The down side is I do not like the grips as they are a ambi. type thumb rest style for people with chubby fingers. I guess for the price something has to be cheap on them. :) :)

There's tons of talk about the CZ line on this board and others. The 75 was the Guns & Ammo cover pistol in August.

You can get the earlier style grip panels from CZ-USA for about $15. I prefer these over the newest versions.

Watch your tounge there. Inexpensive does not equal "cheap POS". Getting every cent worth is a good thing.

The 75 is a great pistol. Mine, an older pre-firing pin safety model, has as good a DA pull as any auto I own.
And, while I have no proof of it, there are those who claim the 75 is the strongest and most durable 9mm made. I think I heard of one range gun 75 that had an estimated 125,000 rounds through it. I think the Glock nines and the Sig 210 can give the 75 a run for it's money in the strength and durability departments. Whatever the case, the CZ is a definite "best buy".

Congratulations and, to quote someone, welcome to Club CZ! I bought one a little over a month ago and am thoroughly enjoying it. Works right and shoots straight. The flat plastic grips panels from CZ are $15 if you include the shipping. The quoted price is $8 for either style, so they are cheap and spray cleaners dissolve them. If you haven't finished reading all of the previous CZ threads, Hogue finger-groove wrap-arounds are $15-20. They will also make smooth or checkered wood grips, but my order is expected to take 8-10 weeks. Oh, good price you got on yours. I paid $349 for the Miliatry model and saw them at the last gun show for $400. John

i see standard cap (15 round) pro-mags are ~15 bucks but factory ones are ~45 bucks

are the factory mags worth the investment?

The 15-rd. mag. that came with mine seems to be well made and works. I tacked a 10-rd. Pro-Mag on an order I was sending to Cabela's before I saw the 15-rd. at CDNN. The 10-rd works perfectly, so I ordered some $15 15-rd. from CDNN last Wednesday. We will see. John
