New combat grip

Standing in a pizza joint the other day waiting for my take out.
I was looking over a video game, it was a cops and robbers shootout game. Natch it caught my attention.
On the lower panel was a photo of two LEO's, a guy and a gal, that you pretend to be when playing the game. The gal looked pretty impressive with her badge on her belt, spare magazine holder. Weaver stance and a real dead serious look on her face.

But then I saw something that REALLY got my attention-She was using the typical two handed hold on some kind of an automatic with BOTH FINGERS INSIDE THE TRIGGER GUARD!

Is this some new technique? Does Ayoob endorse it? Should I start practicing it?

I'm currently trying to break terridarri of the two finger "techique". Strangely though she does seem to shoot better when doing this. But she is still trying to establish which hand she prefers.
I doubt you will find many of the experts that endorce the two finger pull.

I have actually seen it endorsed once for twice for women with small weak hands shooting handguns with heavy trigger pulls. Most recently it was by Rick Miller in CH magazine. My wife doesn`t shoot often but it seems to be about the only way she can fire a few of my guns. I`m quite certain the makers of the video game didn`t have this in mind though. ;) Marcus

Rick got some correspondence from few sources, complaining about that recommendation. Mostly, they went something like, "How dare you suggest that. My wife/girlfriend is a strong, athletic woman who shoots IPSC and IDPA with no problems". Well great! If conventional techniques work, then use them.

The complainers missed Rick's point, which was that it was a valid technique if a woman had to make-do with a pistol that didn't well suit her hand strength. It's all about hitting and surviving, not style. Rick has a good perspective on this issue, as his charming wife is quite petite and has small hands that can only be described as dainty. However, no Bo-peep is she. She camps and hikes and, if some lout threatens her with deadly force, he is quite likely to be getting his next bath at the funeral home.
