New ccw revolver?

Hi all, I have posted before but only a couple of times. Anyway, I am cosidering a new revolver for my main carry gun. I currently carry a Glock 26 on a daily basis and although I like the gun it seems a bit too heavy and bulky to carry all day. I wear shorts most days so I am interested in something light. I have been looking pretty hard at the Taurus 85 ultwt. My question is not just about the revolver but should I sell or trade the Glock. I go shooting once a week, Every Friday morning. Its become a rictual. I was wondering ( because I have three small kids at home ) if there is any reason to keep the Glock. Although it is 100% reliable, do I really need to keep a second gun? My wife has a Bersa .380 that she will not give up to keep the Glock. Anyone one with any experience with the Taurus please chime in. Will the Taurus be as much fun to shoot 100 rds a week through, and if so will it hold up as well as the glock? I am also concerned about rust and cleaning. The Glock even after daily carry is showing no signs of deteriation, However I do clean it every week after shooting. I have never had a revolver but the Taurus sure looks tantilizing. Any ideas, advice and etc. will be appreciated!!!

I wouldn't give up the Glock just yet.

Not until you've become proficient in whatever choice of revolver you get, be it the Taurus or whatever.

I would take along a really knowledgable friend who know his way around revos. The small frame Taurus revos are suspect in quality-control issues right outta the box, IME. True, they do have a great warranty, and will stand by their products; but, it's not fun to have to actually avail yourself of it with a brand-new gun.:( That said, the Ultra-Lite is one of their guns I actually kinda like.:)

As far as safety around your kids, it doesn't get much more efficient than an unloaded auto-pistol, with a loaded mag kept in your pocket.;) Totally safe, yet instantly able to be readied if you needed to. T

If you feel the need to carry one and you are good with it....go for it. A snubbie does have advantages as a CCW. They are more gun than is needed most of the time..statistically speaking :D
Shoot well

You should be able to trade your used Glock 26 for a used S&W snubbie 38 or 357 dollar for dollar without a problem. If you really want to go LIGHTWEIGHT then I would go with the Taurus because of price.

If you like shopping, I would look for a used Taurus.

The Glock is easier to keep clean (its major virtue). The ultra lightweight revolvers will not be as much fun at the range as your Glock.

Tough choice ...

Of all the Glocks, the one I prefer is the little G26 ... It holds a handful of rounds of a respectable caliber. The grip is a little chunky, but that's an unavoidable trait of the design.

If you're interested in a lightweight 5-shot snubnose, though, and you were a friend ... I'd steer you toward one of the many lightweight S&W snubnoses. As many compact pistols as I own, and the one I'm issued, there are occasions when I'm on my own time that my little 642-1 just fits my needs better ... but I wouldn't have sold any of the other pistols to get it. The little j-frame is a luxury for those times I hope I won't need to be armed.

You can always buy another G26 should you regret trading it ... It's not like you'd be the first one of us to experience that ...

I have owned a 605 CH for about 2 months now. About 500 rounds thru it. Sold my Para P-12. The Taurus is my full time carry gun now.
