I,ve had one for about a month and I love it.
The only thing I would add is a thicker grip. I like those adjustable target style grips or something with a thumbrest. I've been shooting federal jacketed (walmart special) through it. Shoots pretty good. It likes the target ammo alot. CCI green tag cuts my groups in half. I put over 100 rounds through it on Saturday. It had 2 misfires. I ejected the cases and found solid primer strikes. I think its the ammo.
Also, the gun was kind of dry(no oil) and it still functioned great. Next time I'll have it oiled better. I had an Aimpoint Comp XD sight on it but decided to take it off, I like the way it handles better without it. I was originally in the market for the Target Trailside but got tired of waiting for it. Six months to be exact. Unlike the SIG the 87 has a true optics mounting rail on it, not a dovetail mount. The berretas mount goes almost all the way to the rear of the gun. More mounting options. The berretas barrel is not milled into the frame like the SIG's.
Meaning, it's replaceable. It comes with 2 front sights and 2 mags with rubber bumpers.
Other than wishing it had thicker target style grips I love the gun. But keep in mind
grips can be added to the gun so it's no biggy. It costs 100 bucks more than the target trailside but has no plastic parts except for the grips. The mags are metal not
plastic. Can you tell I love my Berreta. Anyone considering the Trailside should take a serious look at the Berreta. I don't think you'll be dissapointed. Geez, do I sound like one of those gun writers or what? Too many gun rags.
E-mail me personally with specific questions and I'll be more than happy to answer them.
