New Beretta

Hey guys,

I bought a Beretta Ultralight Deluxe 12 ga. shotgun last month. It weighs less than six pounds. It has the prettiest word, scrollwork, and blueing I have ever seen. I just got it back from Briley this week. I had subgauge tubes installed, the auto safety disabled, the triggers converted from inertia to mechanical and a new mid-rid bead.

I got to shoot it in 28 and 410 yesterday afternoon at our Skeet Club and it is truly a darling.

Good Shooting,

Enjoy!

Sounds like it's a good upland gun, most gamer guns run a bit heavier because of the K-word. But if the recoil isn't fazing you, congrats and Mazeltov.

Dave,

Thanks for the reply. This gun is a Beaut. I doubt that I wil ever hunt with it, but it would do fine. As I have gotten older, I have a bad back and bad shoulders, the shoulders have been fixed.

I am mostly a skeet shooter, but still like to shoot doves and hunt quail. I bought the gun with the idea that I could shoot a 12 gauge O/U for skeet and I do this with 7/8 ounce loads and there is no problem with recoil.. Also, I have now had Briley sub gauge tubes installed and they are Ultralights, weighing 10 ounces per set. This is like shooting my Browning 20 ga. Citori's.

Good Shooting,

Sounds like a good skeet setup, tho I confess I'm no skeeter.

Those 7/8 oz loads should work for skeet quite nicely. When I was working up light loads for Son, I ran a box of 7/8 oz, 8 1/2s through the TB in a practice round. Broke about the same number of targets, just more chips and less explosions. Those should work for skeet also, tho I'd change wads to a non cup type and go with softer shot than the West Coast premium stuff. For hunting with those light loads, I'd go to 8s for quail, 7 1/2s in a trap reload for dove.
