New barrel for Glock gen 2 Model 23

I bought my 23 new about 20 yrs ago and have only put 400 rnds thru it. I put a ny trigger with 3.5 connector in it and polished the metal on the connector etc. The reason I have not shot it much is that I get my trigger pinched and sore when shooting it and I really like single action
hammered guns. I do like the Glock engineering and so I just recently put a flat trigger on it and replaced my old Trijicon night sights with the Truglo tfx sights. I wanted to shoot it more but I just found out about the issue with the .40 Glocks kabooming in the older generations. I was trying to determine if the gen 4 barrel would drop into my gen 2 and function correctly assuming that the gen 4 barrels support the case more than the older models.

I don't know the answer to your question. However, the only time I have ever had to deal with Glock CS, it was a very pleasant experience. I'd suggest calling them.
