Just got a new Pietta 1858 .44 caliber Remington. Cabela's had it on sale for $189 plus an additional $20 off!! I couldn't pass it by.

Here's a pic:

SWEET !!! I was thinking about picking up another at that price, but I already have 2 (from similar deals at Cabelas in the past).

I bought almost the same one (adj sight) last year when Cabela's had them on sale. Other than some trigger creep, easy fix, it's been an excellent shooter. Hundred or so rounds through it this year, feeling pretty smooth. I sure wish Pietta would take a page from Uberti and put the bugly stampings on the bottom of the barrel.

I didn't see the 1858s on sale:eek: I ordered an 1860 a few days ago. Oh, well. I still have my stainless 1858 that my brother helped me buy as my first gun in 1978, and I've always been curious how the 1860s are put together anyway. It's all fun.

This your first open top? Your going to love it.

Since I retail these things---you must go back to that site to the 1860 Army gold and nichol one. We got one in at the store and it absolutely awesome!!!!!!!!

I have been watching Gun Broker, and people are trying to sell those used for $220 + shipping.

Forget Gunbroker, Cabela's has the best deal on BP revolvers right now.
I have seen a few deals on Gun Broker, but it is funny to watch people set a reserve on a slightly used pistol, that is higher than what you could by the same pistol for new. The guys who do that, tend to have to list the same one over and over again, until they find a sucker. It's kind of fun to watch.

It is funny. I get a kick out of the $250-300 brassers that are listed over and over. Same ones have been listed for several years now. I used to search the black powder section every morning, found a few good deals. A nib 2nd gen 61 Navy for $329 bin, needed a new hand. I had to stop it was getting expensive.

With Cabelas haveing the Remington on sale , I just relized I have a 30.00 off cupon and a 5.00 shipping cupon with Cabelas .
Might be time to buy , one can never have too many toys .
These guns we enjoy seem to go up in price each year around Jan. every where at a rate of around 20.00 a year .
Take a look at your old Cabelas sale books and such .
I keep the old sale books and the Cabelas hard cover books like I collect them or something .
