New Armalite AR-180?

The Dec. issue of Small Arms Review has a little info on the re-introduction of the Armalite AR-180. .223, accepts M-16 mags and a retail under $600! Anybody here have more info?

So far, production has been delayed and few of these have gotten out for folks to look at and evaluate.

Acording to my dealer, the AR-180 is coming. They (Armalite) contracted with someone for the barrels and they were not right and so they are re-tooling with someone else.

At least that is the story Armalite is telling my dealer.

I called to speak to Armalite two days ago and spoke with a sales representative. He said they are just about ready to ship, within the month he said. Problem is, they already have a backlog of over 1000 orders to fill. He was hesitant, but when pushed said an order made today wouldn't be filled likely for 6 months, or more. For what it's worth.
