New AK scope mounts

I was curious if any of you have tried these
I am particularly interested in scoping a Saiga 308 so if you have something good on one of those let me know.

1. MI Quick Detach scope mount
2. Parabellum top rail system.
3. Other?

I'd recommend the one from Texas Weapons Systems. Get the BUIS that goes with it and use quick detach scope mounts for whatever optics you put on it.

Back in the days when I used to build AKs from kits and flat receivers I went through basically EVERY scope mounting system you could think of. Nothing worked better than having a side rail on the receiver and using the side rail mount. That was how the gun was intended to have optics mounted onto it and thus far its been the best and most reliable for me.

Here's one of my favorites:

This one would function just fine too:

DO NOT GET ONE OF THESE TYPES OF MOUNTS:

Anything that mounts onto the dust cover is going to move as you shoot. There will be no chance of retaining zero between range trips and sometimes even between shots!

I have also tried the rails that mount onto your rear sight (you have to remove the rear sight leaf) and then bolts down into the tang of the receiver where the stock mounts. These are just OK. They still have a lot of play (by nature of the rear sight mount) and as such got ruled out from actual use.

I have a Nitrex by Weaver 1.5-5x32 scope mounted with low rings on a MI QD mount. This combo is on my converted 7.62x39 Saiga. It sits super low...so low that you must remove it every time you clean your rifle. The good news is that it goes back to zero each time. I like that I can actually get a real cheek weld with this set up. Save yourself a few $$, Primary arms has free shipping on the MI mount.

I think Klebs or Krebs (Sp?) makes a mount for that's solid.

Also cost about half as much as an AK.

TWS looks like a good compromise. I don't want to drill my AK so am left with the best other options.

Krebs Custom does make some really good parts for AKs. Their side rail mount is around $200 though - yeah half the cost of some AK rifles.
