new addition - Henry lever action

Just picked a Henry lever action .22 at a gun show in LA (lower Alabama). Put about 75 rds through it this afternoon. Very impressed with the operation and grouping of this thing for the price. Funny how new additions, even low priced ones, put a little spring in your step.

Yes, the Henry is a nice little 22LR lever-action with a good action. I got mine at Walmart. As a note of caution, be careful what you clean it with. I used Gun Scrubber (which I do with all my guns) and the finish started melting off. I shipped the rifle to Henry, and they gave me good service. Hopps No. 9 should be fine, but don't use any of those gun sprays.

I wouldn't mind pickin' me up a Henry Lever Action. I thought about getting my boy a youth lever action model.

They are cheaper than the Marlin Golden 39A. If I had a choice between the two, I'd prefer the Marlin, but the Henry is a very economical alternative that I would not regret purchasing.

Congrats! One thing I like about many of the lever action 22's around today is that they will feed and fire any 22 ammo other than 22WMR. That means that you can use 22LR for power and cheap plinking, but if you feel the need to increase capacity, you can fill the tube with some 22 Shorts. I think you can get 20-something of them in there.

The Henry seems to be a good rifle.
After reading all of the good press, about 2 years ago, I bought one.
It was super fun to shoot, but jammed regularly. Then, because of the small ejection port, I scratched it up digging out the jammed 22 rounds.
I called Henry, they said "send it back, don't worry about proof of purchase date".
When I called later, they said "Do you want us to fix this one or send you a new one?".
I thought that was really neat!
I said new one (of course) and that is what I got.
I wasn't really comfortable with the gun at that point, so I sold it to a friend in new, unfired condition.
He bragged for weeks how it was as smooooth as butter to shoot, with no jams in several hundred rounds!

Well, live and learn.
