New addition: ATI FX1911 45

This sport is addicting! having only been shooting pistols now for the past several months I've purchased yet another gun. First was a Ruger SR45 which Ive enjoyed shooting, 2nd a Kahr CM45 for concealed.......and just this week purchased an ATI FX1911 45. I was looking for an entry level 1911 that would hopefully be dependable, have the look I wanted and been fun to shoot.

The ATI came with a one factory mag, then I purchased 3 more on eBay - no name brands from what I can tell. One has 45 ACP stamped on the bottom, the other 2 blank.

The ATI came in a box, wrapped in plastic. I committed to break it down entirely, frame and all, to give it a good cleaning before shooting. I'm a newbie, first 1911 and pretty new to shooting/cleaning but it didn't go to bad. YouTube helps! You can seemingly find anything on there.

Went to the range today with a box of 100 being limited on time. Taking the CCW class next weekend I thought I would split half and half between my Kahr to practice for concealed and then the ATI. Had so much fun shooting the ATI I only put it down to reload mags. No issues - it felt great to shoot and was accurate. Really, really pleased with the feel and performance, and, to me, it has a very nice look to it. Paid $372 for it out the door from my local dealer.

Here are some pics. I'm thinking of personalizing it with some custom grips but I really like the look as is too. Tried posting pics but the ones on my phone exceed memory size to load here. Will try to correct and add some later

I have two ATI's and they have been good guns. I bought the 4.25 in Commander size and it has a few thousand rounds through it with no issues. It isn't as accurate as my Kimber but it seems to be well made. I have bought several sets of grips for it that look good. I use Chip McCormick Shooting
Star mags for all my 45acp 1911's.

LOK grips on Amazon are made from G10 and are like VZ grips for less money. I also found Hogue Pau Ferro grips for less than $10. And I bought some mesquite wood grips from Texas Grips for a decent price. Grips can really make a difference.

Here is the mesquite wood grips

Like the grips! Nice looking ATI.

How do you post a pic that is already loaded like yours? I found out his to reduce pic size to load but still can on get one to load and you have to click on it verses yours which is automatically displayed.

Thanks!
