New 6.5 load and new rifle?

I am looking for suggestions on where to start my loads of the lands. I am going to be shooting a PA-10. Most of the time in these AR platform rifles you load out to maximum magazine length. The lead are normally pretty long. I have even gone as far as modifying magazines in the 6.8 to get closer to lands and never touching them.
So I am looking for a good starting point for my first ladder.

Thanks guys,

AL

My load developments usually start 0.020" to 0.030" off the lands and sometimes end up farther than that.

My most accurate rifle actually has the bullet ogive seated 0.204" off the lands. That is not a miss print.

Set to as long as the mag allows. Provided you aren't in the lands shoot them and see what happens. If you need to tweak bullet jump for better accuracy that only gives you one direction to go.

IME I get best accuracy in every rifle I've loaded for with .030 jump and all then out to as much as .085 jump.

With my 308 and 260 AR’s I load to mag length and tweak the other variables,ie powder type and amount and various bullets. Once I get close to what I like I try a few different primers.

Standard magazine length with a good load will give greater accuracy than 98% of shooters will ever be able to milk it for.

Reloader15 and 8208XBR have done well for me with 130 and 140 grain bullets. 8208 with 147 grain ELD match gave me sub .25 moa before the cold front blowing in halted testing. When you are wearing cargo shorts and a tank top at 75 and sunny, and the temperature plummets to 28 and sleeting in 20 minutes. It tends to make one want to put up and go home for the day.

sounds kinda like Maine. Ah I see Texas. I have seen frost on the morning and 80s before noon in Texas.Love that state.

In cases where the OAL is determined by magazine length, the option is to make the chamber match this length rather than the opposite. No need to beat your head against a wall that's not going to move. Do what you can with bullet shape and/or component changes and live with it OR go big time and get a custom chambered barrel.
