I was at the local Walmart today getting some 9mm Win. 100rd. value packs when I noticed they have Remington UMC .40 180 gr. value packs now. And the price was only $17.96. Thats pretty good considering most .40 around here goes for around $10-$11 for 50 rds. I've been shootin' alot of reloads lately anyway, but thought I'd pass the info onto you guys.

btw.....What do you guys think of Rem UMC compared to Win. White Box.?

Forgot to tell you guys......at the SuperCenter I got the usually roll about it being a "miship", so be patient with the guy, or gal in my case, that doesn't know what the hell your talkin' about. Its there, because the regular store in town had it specially marked so you couldn't miss it.

I personally prefer UMC over Winchester white box mainly due to the fact that they best match the performance of my prefered carry rounds (Remington Golden Sabers). Thanks for the tip, I'll have to take a look at my local Wal*Mart to see if they are stocking them yet and stock up. :D It doesn't hurt that I also get an extra 10% off all purchases at Wal*Mart since my wife started working there 5 years ago. :D :D

I usually pick up the Winchester white box value packs, and I saw the UMC's last time I was in, I bought 4 packs of 9mm. I don't have a .40 but I wish someone would make a .45 value pack. I am considering getting into reloading due to the cost of ammo for .45.

i too was in the same boat yesterday. i relized that winchester white box's (wich fire fine in my kel-tec) were only 10.96/100 at walmart compared to american eagle at 7.99/50 at the local gun shop was much cheaper to shoot the whitebox's. while there at the counter waiting for someone to come bak there, i noticed that they had the umc 100ct value box's for the same price, 10.96/100 so i decided to run those thru as i too carry remington hollow heads as my carry round. i got to the range, fired off the 11 rounds of 124gr hollow heads then loaded the mag with the umc's. they felt almost exactly the same, even though they were 115gr. regardless, they do seem a bit dirty, and only had one failure to feed out of the whole set towards the ends. i think im goin to stay with the umc's for now.

Lennyjoe, 100 rnds in a value pack.

panic, I know what you mean about UMC burning dirty. I generally prefer the USA for this reason (not that it's any big deal, but it makes cleanup a little more onerous in my 9mm revolver), but the .40 UMC val-pak is too good a deal to pass up!
