New 22lr

I've been looking for a new 22lr for a long time now and went into a shop the other day which had a CZ 452 trainer and full stock.
I've read quite a bit about the CZs and every body loves them.

I couldn't decided on what one I preferred, the trainer seemed more practical and was cheaper but the full stock is just superb.
So I thought I'd just go for the more accurate one.

So does anyone know what would be more accurate of the two?
That's going to be the deciding factor for me I think.

BUT!!! Then I had to go to a different gun shop didn't I, and in there they had a Weihrauch HW60J in 22lr, I'd only every heard of Weihrauch making air rifles in the past.
But this thing looked awesome, had very very nice sights and a medium heavy barrel, looked very much like an Anschutz.

Has anyone had any experience with a Weihrauch rimfire?
Are the much better than the CZ to warrant a higher price.
Any input on the all three rifles would be much appreciated.

The Weihrauch HW60J is not just higher, it is way way higher. You could buy oth CZs for the same price.

I can't speak to the Weihrauch I haven't seen one let alone shot one.

I have shot the full stock CZ and it was fun to shoot and of course very pretty.

It was more accurate than I am, which is not saying much:o. It was also very accurate for the other people I was with that day and some of them could really shoot.

I have also shot the CZ Lux and I gotta say it was more fun and easier to shoot. iirc it also cost less than the full stock.

Are you going to use the open sights or scope your new rimfire?

If you want to put optical sights on the rifle, then skip both the Trainer and the FS. They are stocked for iron sight use and any attempts to scope them will never be quite satisfactory. A CZ American will make a much better scoped rifle.

If open sight shooting is your goal, then your purchase of either the Trainer or the FS will yield the best factory open sights available with a stock fit to match. As far as the choice between the two goes, it could be decided simply by shouldering both and seeing which sight radius your prefer. I would also like to point out that the FS has a longer length of pull due to the soft butt plate.

I have seven CZ 452 rimfires and this group includes one FS and two Trainers (boxes marked Special). One of the Trainers was the first CZ I ever purchased (at least a decade ago now) and the other was a rifle that I won in a local match last year.

The older Trainer has a lighter than usual CZ trigger and I scoped it for accuracy testing ammunition. I have used the second Trainer and my FS for CMP Sporter competition and open sight class silhouette shooting. They are equally accurate but I think I shoot the FS a little better most of the time.

Good luck with your decision. I have no first hand experience with the Weihrauch but I can speak with confidence that the CZ 452 models are proven designs that seem to simply improve with intelligent use and routine maintenance.
