Never a quiet day at the range...a little humor

I think that we all suspected that behind the scenes, there's a lot more effort and frustration that goes into making a video than is revealed by the finished version that we end up watching.
Mike, you're an angel and a dog's best friend!
Keep up the good work! :)

About the only way to avoid it, is with a sound studio.
Video at the range and voice over in the studio.
Are you any good at lip sync?

Love your videos sir, thank you for all your effort in getting them online.

May I suggest that you check out this video that speaks about microphones and video.

Or, just leave the gun noise but edit your videos to use closed captioning.
My hearing isn't what it used to be and I always turn on CC when it's available.

Just my 2 cents, keep up the good work!

Thanks Rigmarol. That was a good little tutorial.

I actually have a shotgun mic, but I don't use it as often as I used to because I need to use a microphone stand withr it, and it is hard to keep it out of the shot.

These days I mostly use it with a dead cat cover on windy days.

If your range was like mine, you'd have 15 min segments of complete quite to do the talking part (unfortunately) Our range has 15min of firing..followed by the most boring (and disregarded) speal from the ROs with a 15 min "range cold'. The thing that SUCKS about this is it's a public range, and they charge by the half hour...so for every hour paid for. you get to shoot approximately thirty minuets.

Unless...God help you, you get there at the wrong time when the range is cold. Then you get to stand in the staging area box for 15min till the range goes hot...then wait another fifteen for "range cold" again to put targets up...followed by...yep, another 15 minuets before you can shoot. The whole time your paid session clock it ticking by the way:mad:

God I hate living in town:( Keep up the great videos Mike.

Good one. I feel for you. Ditto the comment about how much work you put in for relatively little final video and also the one about jerk RO's with Napoleon complexes.

Agree with all....

And Mike,

While I was poking fun, I failed to mention the professionalism you use to add to this forum with the videos you do and in the magazine with those great articles.

Your work alone got me to subscribe.

I removed the video with the two swear words and replaced it with an edited video that is G-Rated. The new link is in the original post and I'll post it below as well.

I meant this video to make people laugh, not to offend them. Hopefully the new version will accomplish that goal.

I apologize to anyone I offended

No slack >period.< I thought it was funny the way you handled the disappointment. At this point I can honestly say. You do make/keep your film clips interesting. This time. You've earned my Three Star Award Sir._:D_:D_:D lol

P. Script: I watched your first video also. And wasn't offended one bit. We all have are frustrating moments. No doubt about that._:) lol

No thanks. I won't watched the G rated version after I've seen the R rated version. Not that I disapprove of the R version, but there's nothing to gain from watching it over. It is funny and thank you duelist1954.

OMG, a swear word? Oh the humanity.

And how dare those other people shoot their weapons at a gun range.

After watching how rude they all are, and how well you handled it, I am selling all my guns and joining a monestary in Tibet. NOT!! :D
