NRS Chapter 200 covers justifiable homicide. At 200.120 and on.
Other interesting points of Nevada law:
NRS 171, found here, http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-171.html , covers citizen arrest. Note that, unlike most states, citizens are given very broad powers of arrest and apprehension of fugitives. Start at 171.126.
My personal favorites, alhtough I doubt I'll ever try it, are 171.138, .142, and .144.
I think Nevada should recognize Utah permits, at least in Wendover. I visit Las Vegas and Pahrump every chance I get, would be nice if they would let me use my permit there. Do they offer out of state permites in Nevada?
But tell you what, Sword and Caeca, anytime you're in Reno, let me know. I'll be glad to show you around!
Seriously, I'm going to start getting VERY active in reforming the laws. I'd like to see Nevada recognize ALL other state permits. Actually, I'd like to see ALL states honor ALL permits, since I have family in Ohio...
Better yet, I'd like to see them honor our Right to Keep and Bear Arms without ANY infringements like permits....
If I'm ever in Reno I'll take you up on that offer. As it stands now, I won't be there anytime soon. I wasn't all that impressed with the place last time I went through there.
Here in Vegas, I have been told that when one goes for their Nevada CCW, you can take one course that meets the requirements for Nevada and Utah(of course you still pay extra for the Utah CCW). Once you have the Non-Resident CCW license from Utah, there are MANY states you instantly become legal while carrying in them. I originally got my information from http://www.packing.org , and made contacts with both the Nevada Attorney General and Utah Attorney General's offices. Go to packing.org and search for instructors through out the nation that can offer a Utah class. But iso1 is correct, that we currently have no reciprocity with other states permits and we offer no Non-Resident permits-for now. Hope this helps.
