So my wife got me 5 boxes of 2 3/4 rifled slugs for Christmas. Am i going to be able to fire them from a 3" chamber with a mod barrel? Or should I save them for when I get a new shotgun? I don't know that much about shotguns I have used a rifle my whole life. Can anyone help me out? Thank you

Absolutely you can fire 2 3/4" shotshells in a 3" chamber. Either length is fine. Most people likely shoot more 2 3/4" shells in their 3" chambered shotguns than 3" shells.

2-3/4" are fine and most often used in the 870 Express which is chambered for 2-3/4" and 3". What you do not want to do is shoot 3" in a gun if it only chambered for 2-3/4".

Thanks for the help everyone! Plan on taking them out to the property this afternoon and shooting a box or two of them! Merry Christmas everybody!
