Need your recommendation ASAP - about to buy....

I was in the evil gunshop today and they had their "monthly blowout special" - LC Smith (made by Marlin - the new ones) O/U's for $599. Now these normally go for around $999.00 in there, and I have always wanted a decent (not even high-end) O/U so is this my deal? They have complete screw-in chokes. I had them set me one aside so I have until tomorrow to make up my mind. SO, let me have it - good or bad - should I do it? Are these guns good? Give me your honest and harsh opinions....

I don't see any of them around / and I haven't fired one ...so I can't give you any personal experience. However, I think its probably fair to say they are on the lower end of the O/U's with Mossberg, Remington, etc ....but maybe better than Baikal ...(in my opinion).

There is another link below on prices of O/U's ...and I explained in length my attitude on "Fit" and price ....and I would put this gun in the "suspect" list as well. I think you need to be careful - someone may be closing them out / they might be shifting production to a new mfg, or just getting rid of the line ....I don't know. I don't know what you would do if you found you had a barrel regulation problem / or where you would send it for service, etc ...
