Need your expert advice

Here's my dilemma; A local pawn shop has a Russian SKS for $205.00. I looked at it briefly without my readin' glasses but it appeared really cherry. Lamenated stock and everything. An FFL friend has a new Win 30-30 with two boxes of ammo for $225.00
I'm looking for an inexpensive rifle for around the homestead. I've read up on those Russian SKS's and $205.00 seems to good to be true. The pawn shop owner has told me in the past that he sells his guns "as is" (gulp). And I guess I couldn't really lose buying a NEW Winchester. Any advice? Best Regards, J. Parker

I would go for the .30-.30. It has put more meat in the freezer than any other gun IMHO. The SKS sounds nice too though. If you think something is too good to be true then you are probably right!
