Looking to purchase a S&W Chief Special .45
My local emporium has one ANIB 3 mgs $389.
How good are these Smiths? I understand the reason why the previous owner traded it was because it didn't fit his hand well. He got another .45 but a 1911 style. Since I only have one .45 which is my Remington Rand (which I don't shoot much) I thought this might make a good addition to the collection.
Now other then Richard does anyone else have any expierience with these guns? Would like to hear some other Pros and Cons.... ;)
Thanks in advance :)

I don't have any experience with the .45 chief specials but I have shot the 9mm chief's special a few times. My best friend got his brand new before the S&W sellout, after it was "broken in" it actually was a real pleasure to shoot. Accuracy was pretty good and it felt good in my hand and IMHO would make a fine CCW.
I did find the trigger a little something to get used to, but the overall workmanship was very good all parts were fitted well and the pistol has that "bar of soap" feel :)
I am sure it would be a fine addition to your collection.

Swatman, Thanks for your thoughts, I'm seriously considering this as long as its not been sold. This is a preagreement piece so I won't be contributing to the Klintonistas :D
I never gave these things much of a look when they first came out,but this looks to be a pretty nice gun. The shop owner told me the gun shot well except it didn't fit the owners hand, he should seen that before he bought it. It could possibly use a +1 extension if they make them for that piece
Well anyway thanks again :)

Happy Shooting :)
