Need Utah CCP instructor near Oklahoma.

I am looking for a Utah certified firearms instructor so I can get an out-of-state Utah carry permit. I live in OK city, but would be willing to drive for a day to reach an instructor.

Post here, or e-mail mcginnes@grove.ufl.edu

PS. I have a Florida Permit, a PA permit, and I shoot IPSC and GSSF.

Tell your local gun dealer you won't buy from someone who sells S&W
Ask your gun dealer to use a distributor that doesn't sell S&W

Utah honors Oklahoma permits, as do Wyoming, Alaska, Idaho, Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky, Indiana, and, believe it or not, Michigan. Michigan honors all permits issued by STATE agencies. Good Luck getting a permit if you are a Michigan resident though.

In addition to Michigan, Indiana, Wyoming and Idaho also recognize permits issued by state agencies. They do not recognize those issued by cities, counties, or courts, however.

Thanks for the responses. I thought I would fill in some information. I have been to the Packing.org site (which is really great), and called the number they give for Mr. Whitney, but he is no longer at that number, and there is no listing for him in the phone book.

I know Utah and Oklahoma have reciprocity, which is why I want the Utah permit. I just moved here this month, and you have to be a resident of Oklahoma for 6 months to apply for a permit. Then it can take up to 3 more months to actually get the permit.

Unlike Oklahoma, Utah has non-resident permits. So I can get a Utah permit in about a month, vs. 9 months for an Oklahoma permit. I have had my Florida permit for about five years, and just hate not being able to carry.

Thanks again for your help,
Michael McGinnes
