Need to sight in shotgun...

If you were in a bad situation where the only place you could sight in your shotgun was an indoor range, where would you want it to hit? I am trying to sight in my 870 with a fully rifled barrel fo 50 yards, but the indoor range only goes to 50ft (say 17 yards). I know this not ideal, maybe impossible, but if it hit like an inch high would that be in the ballpark? Or should I just get it to hit point of aim at that distance?

Go for POA. Some shotguns hit higher further out when zeroed close, others hit low. At least you'll be in the ballpark.

For the most sloppy of comparisons, one of mine sighted in at 50 yards hits about 1" high at 25 and one inch low at 65. YMMV....
