Need to buy lottery tickets...

I few weeks ago I found pistol powder at one of my local sporting goods store; HP-38 and titegroup. bought 6 lbs. Yesterday I was in the LGS that I normally use and they had .22s on the shelf, CCI standard velocity, stingers, and several boxes of SuperX in the 100 pack. Still expensive, $10 for a box of 100, but available. I asked if he had a limit, he said no, his distributor said they had more coming. I had to buy 4 boxes of the standard velocity, I have a S&W 41 and an old Colt Woodsman that need the standard velocity

Anyone else seeing more availability? Or am I in some sort of time/space continuum?

Yes. HP38 and Titegroup is available online too. I have a few pounds. They sell out quickly, but they are available. Hopefully, the pistol powder situation resolves itself soon. The 22 rimfire situation? That's hopeless.

I can find 22 for 10 cents a round all over the place. Reasonably priced 22 is impossible unless you stake out the place.

Local gunstore I visit occasionally has a fairly large stock of .22 LR, several different choices, starting around 0.07 per shot for the off-brand stuff. Didn't think that was too terrible, but not quite cheap enough for me to add to my stockpile.

Plenty of pistol powder available at LGS in my area, just have to be willing to pay around $28/lb for the stuff. Win 231, HP38 (same, I know), HS-6, TiteGroup (even saw some of this on the shelf at Cabelas a couple weeks back, only $24/lb)

I was just in Pensacola for training and stopped by a a gunshop right out in front of the base... a whole stack of CCI Quiet bricks... for $35ea! SCORE! I had to leave behind a couple paperbacks at my buddies house to make room in my suitcase!

Alas, because I just got back, the wife said no way I could go the The Nations Gunshow in Chantilly this weekend... been trying for 2 years now and something always pops up at the last minute.

I suspect the manufacturers have the prices about where they want them, no more cheap .22s anymore. I will admit I am glad to see some available; especially standard velocity. Anyone can reload .38 special with lead cheaper than .10 a round. I just have not seen it around until yesterday.

About six months or so ago the local Hardware store finally had it's shelves full of popular powders again. Same with .22 lr ammo. Few weeks back I noticed the shelves were almost empty again and asked if supplies were going dry again. I was told no, that because replacement stock was so readily available again, they ordered it in smaller quantities as needed and not big quantities, when the could get it, like previously. They also claimed that the stock sold faster when the shelves looked almost empty, like previously, than when the shelves are full..........
