Need stocks for Colt stainless MkIII snub nose

My .357 Colt Lawman MKIII snub nose grip frame is different from the other J frames and the stocks on my Trooper won't fit.
I've looked on the net but so far no luck. The grips are smaller. I wish they were larger like the Trooper.
I understand they only made this particular stainless snub nose revolver in 1970.

Good luck. I had one for several years and they're beasts. Grips are very hard to find and will be expensive when you do. It may be about the same cost to get a set of elk stag grips made and would look quite classy to my eye. BTW, I don't think Colt made these in stainless; it's nickel if the finish is original.

Need Sotcks for Colt lawman MKIIIstainless

Nope it is stainless. Someone changed the lock work to a case hardened Trooper's. Numrich priced both sets off lock work at 90.00 back when. I hope it is still the smae now. Didn't have the money then.
I guess the environment around Danang got to it,either that or he spent a lot of time R&R or Liason near the ocean.
Bet it has not sen a ox of shell through it. I fired one cylinder full after I finally got it spotless and gleaming. He was with the Marines 22 years from Korea era to three tours in Nam. a couple as embassy guard somewhere, Philippines everywhere.
They only made the stainless snub nose one year, in 1970.

I would suggest you go to the Colt Forum to discuss this gun. I've been buying, selling and trading guns for 40 years and never seen a stainless Mark III but I'm not a Colt guy. Those Colt guys know all. They may have a source for grips also.

What many people assume to be a stainless Mark III is actually satin electroless nickel, which Colt called "Coltguard".

This looks much like stainless but has the typical slightly yellowish tint of nickel where stainless steel has a "white" tint.

The Lawman Mark III with Coltguard finish shipped with uncoated, color case hardened hammer and blued trigger.

The Colt Lawman Mark III with the 2 inch barrel was made much longer than one year.
The early versions had an exposed ejector rod, which in later production was changed to a heavy, shrouded barrel that looked like a giant shrouded Detective Special barrel.

You're going to have a tough time finding grips for a Mark III with 2 inch barrel. That model was the only gun Colt made that used that specific grip. Nothing else will interchange.
Due to the limited time the 2 inch Lawman was made, most grip companies never bothered to make after market grips to fit.

What you may have to do is have someone like Herrett's make you a set.
Herrett's is an old line maker who fits the grips to your hand if you send in a tracing of it.
I'd start off by contacting them about a set for your Lawman:
